FREDERICKSON HISTORIC REHAB

AFTER:

CHARM. PRESERVATION. CLASSIC TOUCHES. These were just some of the words spoken when we had our first initial consultation at the Frederickson Historic Rehab. Located in downtown Sarasota, and a registered historic landmark, we immediately recognized the time and attention-to-detail this home deserved. Originally constructed during the post-Depression era by Gustaf and Anna Christina Frederickson of Sweden, this bungalow was built during a time when Sarasota was merging from a quiet fishing village to a thriving resort community. It is the kind of home that when you walk in you wish the walls could speak of the families that lived and loved, the memories it held and the historic moments it saw. Read the full history of the Frederickson House.

Although it was obvious the home had received several updates along the way, the original footprint was still there. Our goal in this renovation was to restore the beauty and function in every detail and layer. A home this complex often takes a village. The Graber Co team tackled the craftsmanship while Blue Interiors selected the most beautiful design elements. Together our teams wove a picture that incorporated modern function with vintage appeal to bring the home’s original character back to life. Details mattered - such as employing a specialized company out of Tampa to preserve the window pulls. Or taking the time to refinish original woods and doors rather than replacing with new.

Every corner of the Frederickson Historic Rehab has a story or a personal touch, and we find ourselves hard pressed to pick our favorite. To say it was a honor to be entrusted with this piece of history is an understatement, and we know it will continue to be treasured for years to come.
